It is an honour and a privilege to be Principal at such an outstanding school that is committed to achieving the highest ideals in the education and development of girls and young women in the 21st century.
Pymble has a rich tradition of educational excellence. The College was founded in 1916 by Dr John Marden, a man of great capacity, drive and forward thinking, who believed that women should be given the best that education had to offer, and encouraged girls to think for themselves and live by the College motto, All’ Ultimo Lavoro, ‘strive for the highest’. Today, Pymble exemplifies the spirit of its founder, as an exceptional school for the education of girls from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Set in picturesque park-like grounds on 20 hectares on Sydney’s north shore, Pymble is the largest girls’ school in Australia for day and boarding students. The College is recognised nationally and internationally as a school which encourages each girl to discover her own strengths and talents and to gain confidence from her knowledge and life-enriching experiences. Pymble provides a showcase of curricular and co-curricular educational programs and facilities, advanced learning technology and extensive opportunities in the performing arts, sporting and cultural arenas. A strong academic record and focus on each student as an individual creates a refreshing and stimulating environment, which inspires a holistic educational experience.
At Pymble, the developmental needs of all girls are specially catered for at each stage in their education, from Preparatory through Junior and Middle Schools to the Upper School. Boarding facilities, available from Year 7, provide a safe and secure home-away-from-home, ideal for families living in remote and regional areas throughout Australia and overseas, who want their daughters to enrich their educational and life experiences in a city location.
Education is one of the most valuable gifts we can give our children. Pymble Ladies’ College will provide your daughter with opportunities to give her the best start in her life. Beyond her schooling years, she will be equipped with the confidence and competence to achieve her dreams and to make a significant contribution to the lives of others within our global community. At Pymble, your daughter will experience the true values of compassion, generosity, co-operation, teamwork and respect in a nurturing and stimulating environment.
I look forward to welcoming you to the Pymble Ladies’ College community as we ‘strive for the highest’ together in educating your daughter.
