The David Blackwell Music School was officially opened in 1992.  It was named in honour of David Blackwell, College Council Member 1965 to 1992 and Chairman 1987 to 1992.  The facilities are outstanding and offer:

  • 5 large classrooms with pianos, audio and data projection equipment and access to guitars, class sets of tuned and untuned percussion instruments and wireless connection.

  • 2 music laboratories equipped with desktop computers and electronic keyboards.

  • 3 smaller classrooms for group tutorials.

  • A gallery space as an acoustically sensitive rehearsal and performance venue including 2 pianos and a harpsichord to facilitate preparation of concerti and other major events.

  • 16 studios for individual tuition and for boarders' instrument practice
