Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care System
"The helpful and friendly teaching staff that the College provides, are what I remember most about Pymble. The patience and care they give to the students is extraordinary." (Recent Year 12 leaver)
At Pymble, we have a comprehensive Pastoral Care system in place to care for the needs of your daughter. Pymble is a large school and with our size come many benefits including access to a wider choice of subjects and cocurricular activities as well as the provision of specialist teachers. We are, however, very aware of the importance of caring for the needs of each girl as an individual within her Year Group. Our Pastoral Care system provides a helpful framework in which to care for the need of each individual and endeavours to meet the objectives outlined below.
The Senior School Pastoral Care structure involves a Middle School (Years 7 to 9) and an Upper School (Years 10 to 12). Within each of these schools, the Pastoral Care program is coordinated by the Head of School through a Tutor system based on a Year and House structure. This system enables us to provide more individual attention for your daughter and at the same time encourages a strong sense of community spirit.
General guidance is provided by Year Advisors, Senior Tutors and Tutors. Counselling is available to any girl from our two School Counsellors and the College Chaplain.
Senior students are also encouraged to contribute to the care of younger girls through the Prefect and Monitress systems and the Peer Support Program.
The Preparatory School and Junior School also have Pastoral Care programs in place.
