Upper School
Preparing girls to go beyond
The Upper School at Pymble caters for girls in Years 10, 11 and 12. During this time they are guided to develop into young women of compassion and determination. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and for the welfare of others, and are given the opportunity to excel in both academic and co-curricular areas of education.
Building on the strong foundation of the Middle School years, girls in the Upper School work together in partnership with College staff to achieve their desired goals. Students have an enormous array of subjects to choose from in their HSC year, and are supported and guided by dedicated and passionate staff.
The Pastoral Care Program in the Upper School draws heavily on the philosophy of positive psychology - developing resilience, optimism and a confident belief in self and one's own abilities - while nurturing independence, an awareness of the interconnectedness of communities and the concept of mutual responsibility.
Pymble Ladies' College provides Upper School girls with strong leadership opportunities across a range of areas-opportunities in the academic and sporting arenas, in community service, in cultural activities (such as music, theatre and debating) and in school service. Ultimately, Pymble's Upper School equips girls with the skills, knowledge and attitude to thrive and make meaningful contributions in tertiary education, in the workforce and in life beyond.
