International Enrolments

Pymble Ladies’ College is one of Australia’s leading schools for girls and young women. We recognise and celebrate the cultural diversity that is uniquely Pymble and understand the importance of engaging with all of our community.

We remain committed to creating a personalised learning environment for each Pymble girl so she develops a passion for learning and scholarship, a strong assurance of her own worth, and the desire and values to contribute meaningfully to her local and global communities.

Pymble’s Year 12 2017 students achieved outstanding results in the HSC, with four students achieving a perfect Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 99.95, one student topping the state in three courses, one student placing equal-first in a course and a further 12 students placing in the top 10 in a range of courses.

174 students earned 505 places on the Honour Roll which acknowledges students who earn a Band 6 result (90 or higher) in a 2 unit course or a Band E4 result (45 or higher) in an Extension course in one or more subjects. 32 students were also named on the All–round Achievers list for earning marks of 90 or higher in a 2 Unit course or 45 or higher in an Extension course in 10 or more units.

Enrolment Process

This enrolment information is relevant to students with an International background, including students from schools outside Australia, and is not determined by the residential status of the student.

In order to be considered for enrolment at Pymble Ladies’ College, International Students are required to:

  • Fully complete an Application for Enrolment form signed by BOTH parents
  • Pay the Application Fee of $330.00
  • Provide a copy of the student’s birth certificate, translated into English if necessary
  • Provide a copy of the information page from the student’s passport
  • Provide a copy of the visa page from the student’s passport or the visa paperwork
  • Provide a certified copy of the student’s latest school report, translated into English if necessary
  • Provide a certificate of English fluency from the Australian Education Assessment Service*
  • Take out Overseas Student Health Cover prior to a Student Visa being granted

* Students whose first language is not English are required to have their readiness for entry into the Junior and Secondary Schools supported by a certificate of their English fluency from the Australian Education Assessment Service –  This certificate must accompany the Application for Enrolment.

If the application is complete and if a place is available in the grade and the year requested, you will receive a letter from our Principal offering a Provisional Place. You may accept this offer by payment of the Acceptance Fee by the due date.

Prior to entry, you will receive an Invitation to Interview. If you are proceeding, we will schedule an interview for your daughter with the relevant Head of School and the Director of Boarding (if applicable) after which a full offer of enrolment may be made by the College. Your acceptance of this offer is confirmed by the payment of the Entry Fee and the signed Letter of Offer and written agreement.

Upon receipt of these fees an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) will be issued to enable you to apply for your student visa to enter Australia. The eCoE will be sent both electronically and by post to your home address. Approximately one month prior to commencement an invoice for one semester’s fees will be sent and this payment must be paid prior to the student’s commencement at the College.

Tuition fees and other charges are subject to change and may vary from year to year. Any increase in fees during the period of study will apply to both new and continuing students.

AEAS and Placement Testing

Students whose first language is not English are required to have their readiness for entry into the Junior and Secondary Schools supported by a certificate of their English fluency from the Australian Education Assessment Service. This certificate must accompany the Application for Enrolment before an interview can be arranged and a provisional place offered. The results must fall between Stanine 7 – 9 in each category before an application will be processed. As the AEAS levels required by the College are high, most students will need to undertake an English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) before the application is processed and an interview arranged. In Year 7, girls who have confirmed positions will sit a placement test prior to their commencement in order to assess which class to place them in. This is NOT an entrance exam, it is simply to place girls in their appropriate Maths classes. Girls already at Pymble in Year 6 will also sit the same placement test.

Education Agents

Some parents of overseas students prefer to use an agent who speaks their own language and is familiar with the procedures. Agents can make the process fast and efficient as they are experienced in dealing with the issues concerned. Agents may charge a fee for their services and may also offer additional services. Pymble Ladies’ College accepts applications from all agents but only pays our official agents a commission following the successful commencement of the student.

Cultural Community Network

The Cultural Community Network was born through an idea raised in the Community Consultation process in the development of Pymble’s strategic vision – Towards 2020: Striving for the highest. This idea was further developed through a collaborative initiative between the College, the President of the Pymble Parent Association, and two very dedicated and passionate Pymble mothers.

This exciting initiative provides a support network for our Pymble families from different cultures and nationalities where English is a second language. The College has commenced a program to establish representation from the various cultures that form our wider community to ensure that prospective, new and current parents are fully informed and engaged in their daughter’s education.
