Developing a love of learning

The Preparatory School provides a friendly, caring and nurturing environment for all students. In purpose-built facilities our youngest girls enjoy diverse and stimulating experiences, enabling them to develop a love of learning that will stay with them throughout their educational journey.

Small class sizes and manageable year groups cater specifically to girls' needs, encouraging learning by discovery and assisting with the transition from home to school life. The students are encouraged to value relationships, work co-operatively and express themselves within a positive classroom environment.

To ensure a firm foundation for future learning, the girls receive daily lessons in English and Mathematics with additional support provided in literacy, numeracy and ESL. Regular lessons are enjoyed in Science and Technology, Human Society and its Environment, Creative Arts and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education. Enrichment and extension opportunities are available to students with talents and special interests. In all subject areas interactive whiteboards and class computers are used to enhance the students' learning. Specialist teachers plan and implement programs in Physical Education, Performing Arts and French.

An extensive co-curricular program is offered in the Preparatory School. Activities include speech and drama, dance, gymnastics, tennis, swimming and music. Students in Years 1 and 2 are invited to join the Preparatory School choir.
