Pymble Ladies’ College is a school of the Uniting Church in Australia for girls Kindergarten to Year 12 with boarding from Year 7. At Pymble, we foster a world-class educational environment with the importance of global citizenship and a worldwide perspective central to our strategic intent.

The Pymble Tennis Academy (PTA) has been established to take the Pymble Ladies’ College Tennis Program to a new level. Guided by Pymble Sport’s focus of being a world leader for sport, where girls of all ages, abilities and aspirations are encouraged to strive for their highest, the PTA aspires to be the leading girls’ school for developing players. We aim to inspire a passion for tennis in our girls that remains with them for life.

Tennis is a popular sport through K-12 with 380 students participating in competitions, coaching, tournaments representing in IGSA, IPSHA and the Tildesley Tennis Shield.

Pymble is seeking experienced coaches for two exciting and newly created permanent fulltime roles that will play a vital part in the success of the program.

Lead Coach – Development

Reporting to the PTA Head Coach, the Lead Coach – Development will play a vital role in the successful delivery of coaching to development squads in the program.

The role:

  • Collaborate closely with the PTA Head Coach to take a lead role in the design and implementation of training programs for all squads and players in development squads. These include red ball, orange ball, green ball, IPSHA, K-2 Little Aces, Junior Active, Junior Development, Junior Performance Squad and Senior Development Squad.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and advice to other coaches in the development stage.
  • Be active in coaching through private and semi-private lessons, squad training, training camps, tournaments and parent/sibling lessons.
  • Lead the coaching and programming for Junior School PDHPE lessons (Years K-6).
  • Know, monitor and report on the progress of each individual student as they progress through the development stages.
  • Work closely with the Lead Coach – Performance to ensure strong alignment for progression of students from development squads into performance squads.

About you:

You will have:

  • A genuine passion for developing players with a wide range of abilities, aspirations and ages.
  • A successful track record of coaching for over 5 years, ideally in a school environment.
  • Minimum Junior Development qualification although a Club Professional qualification is desirable
  • Strong experience in developing training programs for Tennis for all ability levels
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills that will engage and enthuse players of all ages.

Lead Coach – Performance

Reporting to the PTA Head Coach, the Lead Coach – Performance will play a vital role in the successful delivery of coaching to the performance squads in the program.

The role:

  • Collaborate closely with the PTA Head Coach to take a lead role in the design and implementation of training programs for all squads and players in performance squads. These include our higher performing IPSHA, IGSA, Senior Development Squad, Senior Performance Squad, Tildesley and tournament players.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and advice to other coaches in the performance stage.
  • Develop and implement outstanding opportunities for the improvement of players’ technical, physical and mental skills.
  • Be active in coaching through private and semi-private lessons, squad training, training camps, tournaments and parent/sibling lessons.
  • Know, monitor and report on the progress of each individual student as they progress through the performance stages.
  • Work closely with the Lead Coach – Development to ensure strong alignment for progression of students from development squads into performance squads.

  • A successful track record of coaching for over 5 years, ideally in a school environment.
  • Minimum Junior Development qualification, although a Club Professional qualification is desirable.
  • Strong experience in developing training programs for Tennis that are regarded as being best practice.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills that will engage, enthuse and retain players.

The The successful candidate must comply with any current Public Health Order requirements and have a Working with Children Check clearance.
