Our Values and Culture
Celebrating our College Values in action, every day, is as important as celebrating each student’s academic and co-curricular growth.
Care, Courage, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility reflect our heritage, identity as a school of the Uniting Church in Australia and commitment to ensuring your daughter learns and grows in an inclusive, engaging and supportive environment, built on values.
We warmly welcome students and families of all backgrounds, cultures, faiths, identities and beliefs and take great pride in learning about – and celebrating – the diversities that unite us as an inclusive community.
“These values guide our behaviour, recognising that each individual deserves to be seen, heard and respected on every level. We all share responsibility for making that happen.” Ms Lamia Rockwell – Deputy Principal
Care
I am kind to myself and others.
“When some of my friends were sad because we had a friendship fire, I cared for them by asking if they were okay and if they wanted to sit with them at recess and lunch.”
Mya, Year 6
Courage
I am open to new experiences to learn and grow.
“I demonstrate courage by continuing to work on challenging problems and projects even when they’re hard.”
Nicole, Year 9
Integrity
I do the right thing even when no one is watching.
“Demonstrating integrity means I know what my word is worth and that people can trust me to do what I say.”
Christiana, Year 12
Respect
I value diversity, my worth and the worth of others.
“Respect means treating all people with the same level of morals and ethics that I would like to be treated with.”
Hendrix, staff member
Responsibility
I take ownership of my actions.
“As a Pymble family, we share the responsibility of being kind and inclusive to all members of our community, no matter how different we are.”
Ruby, Pymble parent
2026 is our Year of Courage
Each year, the College nominates one value as the overarching theme to explore in different contexts throughout the four terms. Throughout the four terms, students are encouraged to explore different representations of the value.
- Term 1: Intellectual Courage to be open minded and pursue ambitious goals.
- Term 2: Moral Courage of doing the right thing, even when that feels a little uncomfortable.
- Term 3: Community Courage to advocate for others.
- Term 4: Self Courage to try new things and persevere.
“Intellectual courage is when you are brave enough to question your own ideas and open enough to listen to other people’s opinions.” Helsa, Year 10
Living our values every day
We believe each member of our College community has the right to:
- feel safe, physically, socially and psychologically
- learn, teach and work free from disruption or distraction
- be happy, respected, accepted, encouraged, supported and valued
- have their person, property and privacy cared for and protected
- be treated fairly and equitably.
These expectations reflect our Student Code of Behaviour, Staff Code of Behaviour, and Statement of Expectations of Parents, ensuring every member of our Pymble family can thrive.
