Emotional Intelligence
Pymble girls are courageous, determined learners who approach new challenges with optimism and excitement.
Your daughter will develop the emotional intelligence and strength of character to thrive in new and unfamiliar situations, and inspire others to do the same. Importantly, she will appreciate that significant parts of her character have been developed in times of adversity and learn to embrace life with humility, gratitude and grace.
I am open to new experiences to learn and grow.

A culture of kindness
Kindness is woven into every aspect of our Junior School. Here, your daughter will discover the power of kindness to herself, to others and to the environment. Supporting her along the way is Heidi the Hedgehog, our much-loved Junior School ambassador, whose gentle, thoughtful spirit reminds her that, in a world where she can choose to be anything, she chooses to be kind.

Wellbeing learning for life
Our K-12 Wellbeing curriculum is built on the CASEL Framework, an internationally recognised structure for teaching social and emotional skills that are essential to your daughter’s wellbeing and academic success. Within this framework, evidence-based programs such as Kimochis and URSTRONG will help her learn to understand her emotions and navigate the challenges of growing up with knowledge, tools and confidence.
Opportunities and highlights
Courage and character development
Character is built through challenge and the joy of discovering that we can do hard things when we have a go. Our Outdoor Education Continuum begins with gentle outdoor explorations in Kindergarten and steps up to progressively bolder expeditions each year as your daughter’s confidence builds.
The Junior School also timetables ‘risky play’ on bikes and scooters and with loose parts in the open air, in addition to teaching important life skills such as Wilderness First Aid, self-defense and Surf Education.
Spiritual reflection and belonging
As a school of the Uniting Church in Australia, we offer your daughter time and space to pause, reflect and consider her place in the world in fortnightly Chapel services. Religious Education is led by our Compass teachers, with the support of our Chaplains, and broadens gradually into an exploration of the world’s major religions to support her understanding and respect for the different beliefs within our local and global communities.
Connections and belonging
Our Buddies program pairs younger and older students across the years: Kindy with Year 2, Year 1 with Year 4, Year 3 with Year 6, Year 5 with Year 11. Buddies meet regularly to build genuine cross-year friendships and mentors. Your daughter will also join one of eight House groups, a vibrant K-12 ‘sisterhood’ designed to build friendships, school spirit and a sense of belonging.
"I had fun today at unstructured play as we reused lots of items that we wouldn’t usually think of. We built tents using fabric and had lots of laughs."
