The Australian Track and Field Championships were held in Sydney from Monday 12 April to Monday 19 April. This included all the best Juniors and Open Athletes in the country. It was also the Olympic trials and world junior trial event. Pymble was represented by 21 athletes and five ex–students (all past and present coaches). This was the highest number by any girls’ school in Australia. 

All our athletes performed exceptionally well and should be congratulated on a fantastic week. In total we won five gold medals, two silver medals and five bronze medals. Well done to all our coaches and athletes on a fabulous week. A big thank you to Deb Walsham, Melinda Gainsford-Taylor, Lawrie Barclay, Leanne Pejkovic and Jack Pennington for all your time, effort and commitment to coaching our girls and being there all week.

Year 12 

  • Ella  – 3rd Under 20 Years Heptathlon 
  • Marguerite – 19th Under 20 Years 200m 
  • Kailyn  – 3rd Open AMB Long Jump 

Year 11 

  • Olivia – 1st Under 17 Years 400m, 2nd Under 17 Years 200m (and a World Junior qualifying time) 
  • Brianna – 1st Under 17 Years Shot Put, 4th Under 17 Years Discus 
  • Sienna – 1st Under 17 Years Long Jump, 2nd Under 17 Years Triple Jump, 3rd Under 17 Years 100m Hurdles 
  • Emilia – injured but selected in NSW team 
  • Jessica – injured but selected in NSW team 
  • Cayla – 14th Under 17 Years 400m 

Year 10 

  • Abigail – 12th Under 16 Years 1,500m, 5th Under 16 Years 3,000m 
  • Rhedyn Wong – 14th Under 17 Years Javelin 

Year 9 

  • Sarah – 3rd Under 15 Years 3,000m, 7th Under 15 Years 1,500m, 5th Under 15 Years 800m 
  • Georgia – 15th Under 16 Years 3,000m, 6th Under 16 Years 2,000m Steeplechase 
  • Amber  – 8th Under 15 Years 400m, 10th Under 15 Years 800m 

Year 8 

  • Sophia – 14th Under 15 Years 3,000m, 4th Under 15 Years 2,000m Steeplechase 
  • Grace – 4th Under 14 Years High Jump, 9th Under 14 Years 400m, 3rd Under 14 Years 80m Hurdles  
  • Tessa – 22nd Under 15 Years 800m
  • Sybella – 2nd Under 15 Years AMB 100m, 1st Under 15 Years AMB 400m, 3rd Under 15 Years AMB 200m  
  • Samara – 4th Under 15 Years 400m, 4th Under 15 Years 200m 

Year 7 

  • Grace – 1st Under 14 Years 2,000m Walk 
  • Matilda – 27th Under 14 Years 100m
