During Term 1, the girls in Year 3 investigated whether ice or chocolate would melt faster in the sun.

The girls predicted that the ice would melt faster and justified their predictions. They were indeed correct (the ice melted in about 30 minutes), however, they were left with many more questions:

'Why did the melted ice water all pool on one side of the plate, but the melted chocolate stayed in a circle?' - Neve
'If we put the experiment in the shade, how much longer would it take?' – Kitty
'Why did the chocolate keep melting even more when we came back into the classroom out of the sun?' - Josie

Today we welcomed our students back on campus for the first day of Term 2.

We started the term with a special assembly to commemorate Anzac Day and reflect on the contribution and sacrifice made by so many men and women who have served our beautiful country. Lest we forget.

To mark Anzac Day, we would like to honour the 150

To mark Anzac Day, we would like to honour the 150 ex-students and staff who served in WWII, five of whom tragically lost their lives. Our Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh Award students researched and wrote their biographies, and made audio recordings of the letters these women sent home to Pymble’s former principal, Miss Dorothy Knox, who went to great lengths to keep in touch with any serving Pymble girls.

Year 10 Geography enjoyed a field trip to Barangar

Year 10 Geography enjoyed a field trip to Barangaroo Reserve and Waterman's Cove where they explored the geographical features of this transformed urban landscape.

The students enjoyed learning about Barangaroo's evolution from an industrial site to a sustainable, world-class precinct. Some aspects that the students noted were how the reserve’s 75,000 native trees and reconstructed shoreline highlight the importance of environmental sustainability, and the innovative strategies, such as the underwater garden at Waterman’s Cove, that revitalises marine habitats using 3D-printed panels.

The day deepened the girls' understanding of sustainable urban planning and left them with future career options to consider.

Congratulations to Jackie Morcombe, HRIS Advisor,

Congratulations to Jackie Morcombe, HRIS Advisor, who received a L.O.V.E (Living Our Values Everyday) Award.

Nominated by her colleagues, Jackie is responsible for the successful implementation of HERO - the new HR Information System which was completed in June 2024. Jackie led this complex implementation process while also managing her 'day job'. She showed great courage in taking on this huge project, something she had never done before. Jackie demonstrated tenacity, collaboration and integrity with a focus on getting the right outcomes for the HR team, Pymble staff and the College. Jackie is now regularly contacted by other schools to learn about HERO and our successful implementation project. Jackie has been at Pymble for over 13 years and is an invaluable member of the HR team.

Congratulations, Jackie, on receiving this award.

Two of our AFL teams, Pymble 6 and Pymble 5, recen

Two of our AFL teams, Pymble 6 and Pymble 5, recently donned their uniforms for the final match of the season.

Pymble 6 took to the field for four matches at the Lightening Carnival at @loretonh, and finished the day undefeated after winning all four matches!

Meanwhile, Pymble 5 took on @barkercollege in the Junior Year 7/8 Division 1 grand final and were keen to prove themselves against opponents who were previously undefeated. Although they started off with several behinds, the floodgates were opened mid-way through the first quarter, and the Pymble team were able to rack up points during the match to walk away as the Division 1 champions.

Our Boarders were already getting into the Easter

Our Boarders were already getting into the Easter spirit before they headed off for school holidays. In addition to their annual Easter egg hunt, the Boarders enjoyed a visit from Paul and his apprentice from Du Plessy Pralin & Otello Chocolates Patisserie to learn the art of chocolate.

The girls watched with anticipation as Paul tempered the chocolate and enjoyed the opportunity to do some taste testing. They then created lots of Easter treats using moulds and packaging their goods to be distributed.

Eleven Pymble students recently travelled to Perth

Eleven Pymble students recently travelled to Perth to compete in the Australian Junior Championships. Over five days of competition, our students delivered outstanding performances with 5 gold medals, 2 silver and 4 bronze. 🥇🥈🥉

Special mention to Amalia (Year 9) and Eliza (Year 9) who won two gold medals each, with Eliza also achieving the championship record in both the 1500m and 3km.

Well done to all our athletes who made us #pymbleproud with their exceptional sportsmanship.

Celebrating women and our College values through painting.

Pymble Ladies’ College is delighted to launch its inaugural Pymble Values Art Prize in 2025 and invites submissions from Australian female artists.

This $30,000 acquisitive prize is for an original two-dimensional painting created in response to Pymble’s value statement for Respect – I value diversity, my worth and the worth of others.

The winning artwork will be announced at an exhibition of finalists at the College on Monday 10 November 2025. The exhibition will be open to the public and all artworks featured will be available for sale.

In the lead up to Easter, our Kindergarten to Year

In the lead up to Easter, our Kindergarten to Year 2 students enjoyed getting into the festive spirit by decorating Easter-themed cookies and having an Easter Hat Parade.

The girls had a ball decorating their cookies with icing and sprinkles, and will no doubt enjoy eating them just as much! Thank you to the Junior School Parents who hosted this fun event!

Our Kindergarten to Year 2 girls also had loads of fun creating handmade Easter hats, and did an egg-cellent job parading their hats and singing in front of a full house of parents and carers.

Last week, our College community celebrated inclus

Last week, our College community celebrated inclusivity, diversity and connection at the annual Sharing Stories Festival hosted by our Library team. Throughout the festival, students and staff alike were inspired by a wonderful array of stories and storytellers.

We were delighted to welcome special guests who shared their passion for storytelling with our girls through fun workshops and engaging presentations. Thank you to First Nations poet, artist and custodian of stories @kirli.saunders, renowned author @raspratt, former student and professional actor @safia.arain (2016), author @kyrageddes and scientist and writer Dr Jeanette Nguyet Pham for inspiring our students.

Our secondary students also showcased their creativity by telling personal stories through beautifully decorated cupcakes, while Junior School students delighted in exploring new skills during Living Library activities, where our talented staff demonstrated balloon art, calligraphy, drumming and Play-Doh making.
