Year 12 students recently enjoyed a wonderful Retreat Day at Vision Valley!
The retreat provided the opportunity to reconnect with friends and have some downtime before the busyness of the year ahead, with a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. Students tried their hand at outdoor activities, such as archery and canoeing, stepping outside their comfort zones and embracing new experiences.

Our Living Our Values Everyday (L.O.V.E) Awards recognise staff who exemplify our Pymble values and make an exceptional contribution in their everyday roles. Importantly, they highlight our unsung heroes and quiet achievers.
Congratulations to Amanda McMahon (Administrative Assistant - Junior School), who has been awarded a Pymble L.O.V.E Award.
Amanda brings heart and joy to Hedgehog House. She is unflappable and manages a myriad of things every day with a smile! Efficient and knowledgeable, no question or task is too big or too small for Amanda. The girls know she cares about them when they are having a hard day, have lost their belongings or feel unwell. Amanda is professional and polite in interactions with parents and goes above and beyond to support them with their questions or concerns. Adept at noticing the little things, Amanda will quietly do things to show kindness when others need it most.

The Pymble Fiji Service Trip was an incredible opportunity for our students to step out of their comfort zones, learn about a different culture and give back. During the trip, 23 students spent seven days working along the locals, providing support and assistance with some community projects. Two Year 12 students, Juliette and Jessica, shared some insights into the experience.
"The Pymble Fiji Service Trip left me with memories that will last me a lifetime. It was incredibly rewarding to see my work (sometimes real sweat and tears) make a tangible difference. From planting pineapples altogether within three hours, a task that would have taken a single farmer three weeks to complete, to building pathways to prepare for the monsoon season in local villages, everything we did provided me a sense of purpose and a direct connection to the community's needs.” - Juliette (Year 12)
“One of my most memorable moments was the cooking session for a local women and children’s shelter. We not only prepared meals but also had the privilege of personally delivering them to the families. Following this, we spent the afternoon playing games and getting to know the children in the women’s shelter and this was by far where my favourite memories were made… Leaving Fiji, and the children and families we built such strong bonds with, was the hardest part. But I left with a full heart, carrying the lessons they taught me: to love unconditionally, appreciate the little things, and always in every occasion go the extra mile to make someone feel valued without expecting anything in return.” – Jessica (Year 12)

Last weekend, our Boarders enjoyed an amazing Sydney adventure!
The Boarding team organised a series of clues and challenges that gave our Boarders the chance to negotiate Sydney's public transport network.
Buses, trains, ferries, the Metro and light rail were all on the agenda as the students traversed the city between Manly, the Sydney Opera House and Barangaroo.
It was a fun day for all our Boarders, with our Year 12s being outstanding role models, motivating and engaging the various groups!

Pymble Ladies' College is coming alive in 2025, and on the very first day of the school year we asked some of our students what that means to them and how they plan on making it happen.

Yesterday Year 5 launched our Mission to Mars!
Led by Mr Brown, Head of STEM K-6 and all Year 5 teachers, the students began their journey to successfully launch a rocket, land a rover safely on Mars, navigate the rough terrain and think about sustainability and survival.
They studied a large map to explore the planet's topography, and were amazed to discover that some points on Mars are three times the height of Mount Everest!

Last Sunday we welcomed the first Year 9 Residential Program cohort to Vision Valley. After weeks of storms over the holidays, the sunshine came out as families of adventurers entered the Valley.
Our adventurers were welcomed to the site by Tim Selwyn (Girri Girra) with a smoking ceremony and watched the sunrise on their first VV3 (a three-kilometre trail run). They are the first group to utilise our new learning spaces, including the renovated Lakeside and surrounds, and the outdoor classrooms Kookaburra and Wedgetail.
We can’t wait to see the girls thrive over the next four weeks away from home!
