Secondary Innovation Precinct
The Secondary Innovation Precinct will be a world-class learning environment that prepares our students to be global leaders.
The College is embarking on a program of works associated with the Secondary Innovation Precinct.
The overarching vision for the Secondary Innovation Precinct (SIP) is to meet demand for additional learning spaces in a manner aligned with the College’s Strategic Vision. It is an opportunity to shape and effect new teaching and learning paradigms with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and provide a home for Senior students within the broader campus context. It also aims to provide an outward-facing learning environment that prepares girls in Years 11 and 12 for real world challenges and ongoing learning. It will include a mix of informal, general, specialist and hyper-specialist learning areas, including a dedicated area for Robotics and Makerspaces.
The site is to be in the current position of the Isabel Harrison (IH) building, which currently operates as the College reception and administration. The existing building is to be demolished and new building erected. IH is situated adjacent to the historic Colonnade building and Main Oval, visible to the front of the school, thus the new Secondary Innovation Precinct being a major visual aid and showcase for the key initial first impression of the College. The new Secondary Innovation Precinct will connect into the College with a significant landscape expansion of a new ‘campus green’ when the Isabel Harrison (IH) and Dorothy Knox (DK) buildings are demolished, which is considered as part of this overall project.
The Secondary Innovation Precinct is targeted for occupation by Semester 1, 2029.
We have commenced with the identification of an architect for these works, through an Expression of Interest and Design Competition. The architect will be appointed by end March 2024.
