Pymble Robotics took to the world stage last week Pymble Robotics took to the world stage last week with Team 6510V – 24 Quackers proudly representing Australia at the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas!
Across three action-packed days, our students competed in the VEX IQ Challenge, moving between matches and practice fields, meeting teams from around the globe, sharing experiences and even handing out 3D-printed ducks.

They designed, built and programmed every part of their robot from the ground up – no pre-built parts, no shortcuts. Every mechanism, line of code and design decision was the result of countless hours of collaboration, testing and refinement. It was a true display of teamwork, creativity and determination – powered entirely by the students’ own ideas and effort.

More than a competition, the championships was an unforgettable experience of growth, connection and global STEM spirit. We’re so #pymbleproud of what 24 Quackers achieved – a true showcase of Pymble pride.

Each year, National Boarding Week in Australia cul Each year, National Boarding Week in Australia culminates in Principal’s Day to celebrate the impact of school leaders on the Boarding experience.

On this day, we pay tribute to Dr Hadwen, a former Boarder who understands the importance of creating a home-away-from-home environment at school where each individual is supported to thrive. A passionate champion of our Boarding community, Dr Hadwen’s personal experience inspired her doctorate in transition challenges faced by Boarding students and families and helped to shape her leadership of Boarding Schools throughout her career.

Creating deep threads of connection – this year’s Boarding Week theme – is what Dr Hadwen does best. A regular visitor to our Boarding families in their hometowns, she also hosts home-cooked Sunday night dinners for our Boarders at their home, and can often be found in the audience or on the sidelines of students’ sporting events in her #1 Pymble Supporter jacket.

Thank you Dr Hadwen for all the compassion, care and guidance you provide to our 146 Boarders – this week and every day at Pymble.

Our current Boarders are following in the footstep Our current Boarders are following in the footsteps of the many who came before them!

When Pymble Ladies’ College first opened its doors in 1916, 20 of the 60 foundation students were Boarders. Ranging in age from eight to 17 years old, most of our early Boarders were from country NSW, including Parkes, Walgett, Cudal and Forbes. There were also a number of students from the Sydney suburbs of Manly, Neutral Bay, Summer Hill and Ashfield. The boarding houses were initially named First and Second House, but were later renamed Marden and Lang, with some Boarders sharing the principal's residence, Grey House.

These photos from the College Archives display the fun and friendship enjoyed by our earliest Boarders between 1918 and 1927, and feature some familiar looking buildings that are still beloved by our Boarders today. 🩷

Our Eisteddfod dancers kicked off May with an Eist Our Eisteddfod dancers kicked off May with an Eisteddfod Dance Intensive Weekend built around the theme 'Come Alive'.

Throughout the weekend, the girls focused on how dancers bring energy, presence and emotion to rehearsals and the stage. It was an action-packed two days with 28 choreography sessions and five specialised workshops, including a junior photography workshop, a 'Storyline and the Story before the Stage' workshop and 'Come Alive' workshop, as well as session with our Dance Captains.

It was a fantastic opportunity for Junior and Secondary dancers to come together, refine their artistry and build team spirit as they prepare for their first eisteddfod. Parents were also treated to some special sessions where they had a backstage tour, Q+A and a session titled 'Unpacking the Eisteddfod Dance', where they gained valuable insight into how routines are developed and brought to life.

Best wishes to our Eisteddfod dancers for the exciting season ahead!

The 2024/25 Sailing season may have come to an end The 2024/25 Sailing season may have come to an end, but the memories are timeless.

For this season's sailors, the journey began in Term 4 where our Learn to Sail and Senior Sailing programs took boats out every Thursday and Saturday morning. During these sessions, students from Years 5 to 12 mastered everything from the basics of handling a boat and understanding the breeze, to the finer points of team tactics and advanced racing skills.

Our sailors were honoured to put their skills to the test at the NSW Summer Series Sailing Competition at Woollahra Sailing Club, before the energy and excitement of the NSW State Championships at Georges River, where our team secured an impressive fourth place amongst all-girls' schools.

Today for National Boarding Week, we’re celebrat Today for National Boarding Week, we’re celebrating our Boarders. Our Boarding community has a strong sense of pride and identity, and each of our Boarders bring their own unique gifts.

Reflecting on their Boarding experience, our Head Boarders, Sophie and Celeste, said:

“Boarding at Pymble has shaped us into resilient, independent individuals who embrace challenges and seek growth. We are passionate about being positive role models and giving back to the community we proudly call home during term time. What we cherish most about this experience is how it encourages us to step outside our comfort zones, fostering lifelong friendships and creating lasting memories that truly define the Pymble Boarding journey.”

Thank you to our Boarders for your valuable contribution to our Pymble community!

“Once a Pymble girl, always a Pymble girl.” Ou “Once a Pymble girl, always a Pymble girl.” Our care for our students extends beyond graduation, with the College committed to supporting our Alumni in their lives post-Pymble through a series of formal and informal events. When Dr Hadwen was in the UK recently, she was delighted to reconnect over High Tea with some of our recent graduates who are studying, working or on gap-year placement in England. “It was so rewarding to see these impressive young women pursuing their dreams as compassionate, influential and highly engaged global citizens thanks to their Pymble education,” Dr Hadwen said.

It is National Boarding Week and we are excited to It is National Boarding Week and we are excited to celebrate our amazing Boarding community!

This year, the Australian Boarding Schools Association (ABSA) has chosen the theme ‘Threads of Connection’, capturing the special connections built amongst boarding communities and the wonderful way that each individual sews an important thread into the community tapestry.

As ABSA stated, “It’s this interconnectedness that makes boarding more than just a place to live - it makes it a home.”

Thank you to our Boarding students, parents and staff who all play a significant role in our community.

Happy National Boarding Week!

In the holidays, the Pymble Ladies' College Cadet In the holidays, the Pymble Ladies' College Cadet Unit (PLCCU) conducted their Annual Field Exercise (AFX) at the Marrangaroo Training Area, NSW.

The six-day camp was a wonderful opportunity to put the theoretical lessons the cadets learnt over Term 1 to the test, with activities including navigation using a map and compass, dealing with various medical scenarios, radio communications and much more. The AFX was a great opportunity for cadets and their rank to get to know each other better, and to see the connection building between the younger and more experienced cadets as they worked together.
