Talent Development Program
Informed by research and the latest innovations in gifted education, Pymble’s Talent Development Program caters for the unique learning needs of gifted and high potential learners. It seeks to familiarise students with their passions, strengths and gifts, and, through the provision of high-level learning opportunities across a range of talent domains, equip them with the knowledge and skills required to become leaders and experts in their chosen fields.
To flourish in their chosen domain or field, students in the Talent Development Program are provided with a wide range of academic pursuits to hone their skills and knowledge. These include access to advanced learning pathways, academic competitions at state, national and international levels and domain-focused projects. Through their engagement with these pursuits, our students develop mastery of domain content and skills, often at a younger than typical age, which heightens their opportunity to develop eminence in their chosen field.

In addition to the acquisition of content knowledge and skills, character disposition plays an important part in talent development. Psychosocial skills, such as perseverance, task commitment, and resilience, are determining factors for those who rise to elite levels of performance in their chosen field. Students engage in planned activities including goal-setting, planning, journalling and role-play to develop these vital skills.
Guided practice is another important feature of the program. Our specialist talent development staff, known as Intellectual Domain Leaders work closely with students on a range of initiatives to identify and explore their individual academic potential. College mentors and external experts also assist with this process.
Students in the Talent Development Program are part of an inclusive and supportive academic environment. The girls meet regularly with their Intellectual Domain Leader to plan their talent development journey. Group meetings foster connections with like-minded students in the cohort, whilst older students serve as mentors for their younger peers in the program. External connections are also fostered with College alumni and subject matter experts who provide valuable career guidance and counsel.
